From the Engine Room: What Signals for Cryptorg Bots Used to Look Like

We continue our series where we show you what's under the hood at Cryptorg, what we had to go through, and how the platform has changed over the years. Today — the story of trading signals: from the first homegrown solutions to the full-fledged service you use now. And mind you, we've been at this for nine years already.

Where It All Began: TradingBeep

When the first spot bots appeared (2017), it quickly became obvious that a bot simply trading in circles was only half the job. Users wanted the bot to enter the market at the right moment, not just whenever. For that, we needed signals. And signals need data. Lots of data.

There was no ready-made solution on the market that suited us, so we took our usual route — we built our own. That's how TradingBeep was born: our own analytics platform that collected candlestick data from all connected exchanges in real time. Eventually the service grew to 17 crypto exchanges and more than 14,000 trading pairs: prices, volumes, history — all of it streamed continuously into TradingBeep, ran through classic technical analysis tools (Bollinger Bands, MACD, Stochastic, EMA/SMA moving averages), and turned into alerts and signals. TradingBeep became Cryptorg's data provider: thanks to it, users could configure bots with technical signals for the very first time.

The First Signals: Few and Hardcoded Solid

What could we offer back then? Moving averages and price crossovers, a set of popular oscillators with BUY and SELL points, Diver Cryptorg divergence signals, TradingView webhooks, our signature FOMO, and later — Market Shock.

Sounds decent, but there was one "but," and it was a big one: the parameters of all these signals were strictly hardcoded. The user picked a signal from a list — and that was it, their freedom ended right there.

Take FOMO — an indicator for trading against the crowd that we spent a whole year developing and testing. The tool turned out great: it detected abnormal market overheating zones, and on average only one second passed between the indicator's signal and the bot's start. But the user had virtually no settings: three fixed timeframes (M5, M15, H1), rigidly defined zone widths, and the indicator only worked on three hardcoded trading pairs.

Market Shock — a detector of abnormal market impulses — was already a step forward: it introduced impulse type (pump or dump), speed (SHOCK, SLOW, ANY SPEED), and three strength levels. But even that was more a handful of fixed presets than real flexibility.

Futures: Three Signals for Everyone

And now the sore spot. In the old futures bots (the very ones we recently sent off into honorable retirement), the entire signal arsenal consisted of three items: Market Shock, Diver, and FOMO. That's it. No moving averages, no oscillators — none of what was available at least on spot. And you couldn't customize those three either. Everyone suffered from this — users and us alike, because we knew perfectly well what was missing, but the architecture of those bots simply wouldn't let us wire in signals properly.

How It Works Now

And here begins the part of the story we were building toward all along. Today Cryptorg has a full-fledged signals service, and the difference from what came before is like the difference between a whistle and a control tower.

A huge catalog of indicators: a dozen kinds of moving averages (EMA, DEMA, TEMA, Hull, KAMA, VWMA, and more) and their crossovers, trend tools like Ichimoku, Parabolic SAR, Supertrend, and ADX, more than twenty oscillators including RSI, MACD, Stochastic, and CCI, volume indicators (OBV, MFI, Chaikin Money Flow), volatility tools — Bollinger Bands, ATR, Donchian and Keltner Channels. Our signature FOMO and MarketShok haven't gone anywhere either — they're built into the service, now with adjustable parameters.

Most importantly, every signal can now be configured any way you like. You set the indicator parameters yourself, you build the conditions yourself. And signals can be attached to any bot — both for entry and for exit. A Crazy bot can open a trade on one signal and close it on another: for example, enter on a FOMO oversold signal and exit on an overbought one. You can attach several signals to one bot at once — whichever fires first triggers it.

And about speed. The old services, let's be honest, were slow — data was collected and processed with delays that annoyed us quite a bit ourselves. The new signals service is lightning fast: mere moments pass between a market event and the bot's reaction.

Nine Years In

Looking back, it's amusing to remember how proud we were of those first hardcoded signals — at the time it felt like a breakthrough. Then, for years, we listened to users asking for more freedom, suffered alongside them through the "signal-less" futures bots, and step by step built what we ultimately built. Nine years of development isn't just impressive volume numbers — it's also long stories like this one, where going from "few and hardwired" to "configure it however you want" takes years of work.

TradingBeep served honorably and laid the foundation the current service stands on. Today it's already outdated and only supports the legacy spot bots — for which, by the way, we're already preparing a worthy replacement. But that's a story for one of the next editions of this series. Meanwhile, we keep moving — there's always work to do in the engine room.
